I'm trying to use an Arturia Beatstep Pro to control the ARP so that I can control drum tracks simultaneously. As the BSPro is only capable of outputting (2x) monophonic lines, is there any way to have ARP build chords using the monophonic input from the BSPro as the root notes?

Excellent, thanks! I wasn't sure that I'd put that clearly but you obviously understood. The BSP is such a great tool that I'd love to be able to use it to make the most of Arp.
Your idea sounds good and while a time-period for capture would be interesting and very flexible, could a "number of notes" approach work? For example, setting Arp to collect the notes in groups of "x" and to use those until the next group comes along.
At the moment, I've been using BSP to directly control a drum machine while sending note data from a sequence channel to Arp. It's good to know about using the BSP control channel to input chords and I will look into this: I didn't know. Thank you.
There is an idea, on the planned features list, to capture scales from a monophonic sequence. This would be another Arpeggiation Mode in the menu.
The tricky part is figuring out which notes form the scale. The most promising approach is to set a time period for note capture. So, for example, over the course of a bar, collect all incoming notes and use them all to form the chord/scale. But do you wait until the end of the bar before changing scale or constantly modify the scale? I the latter case the scale would constantly lag the melody.
This is something I have experimented with and it does make for interesting results. It is planned to be implemented in a future update.
As a side note, you can use the BS Pro's control channel to play chords into ARP. Unfortunately, you cannot sequence this.
I hope that info is useful.
