I'd like each "link" in the Chord Chain to have a duration in ticks/beats/bars, so you can have interesting song-like chain patterns, e.g. if you turn the duration down below 1 bar it "snaps" in beats, but you could maybe press-turn to adjust in ticks or something.
Having chords held longer than 1 bar is doable now by simply sequencing the same chord multiple times, but if you wanted a chord for, say, 3 bars and 2 beats, then a short transition chord for 2 beats into the next one, you can't do that right now.
Great idea that perhaps could be implemented in a similar way as the RHYTHM and GROOVE editors. I.E. as a bar graph whereby instead of each bar representing a step, it represents a chord, and the adjustable bar height could represent a duration in either ticks/beats/bars.
Yeah, this is on the roadmap for an upcoming firmware update. There will be an update that focuses on sequencing, and Chord Chain enhancements is on there. My current thinking is there will be a global resolution value to have more granular control and an increase in the chain length. This is a compromise, but the complexity of having individual time periods for each chord is difficult to manage with the limited controls available. When I get into development I will post here with some proposals for your input. Cheers for the suggestions, keep them coming. :)
