This is UNA
Midicake UNA is a hardware MIDI performance-sequencer that lets you build a complete, evolving three-layer composition in minutes: a melody that responds to your chords, a chord progression that drives everything, and a bass line with its own improvisation.
UNA is an accompaniment companion for keyboard players. If you've ever wanted a band that actually listens to you — this is it.
One take. No edits.
0:51
Filmed from above in a single take. Capture a few chords, then play: melody, bass and rhythm follow every change, live. A band that actually listens to you.
One chord drives all three tracks. Rhythm plays chord patterns or a drone, Melody arpeggiates and steps through its patterns, and Bass improvises, all locked to the harmony.
Three ways in. Pick yours.
Play it yourself, tweak the knobs, or let it run. Same UNA, three ways to use it.

Eight knobs reshape the tracks as they play. Hold CONTROL, push it, let go, and it snaps back.

Let it play
UNA plays and evolves while you shape the sound. Some patches can take days to repeat.

Play it
Split the keyboard. Your left hand holds the chord, your right hand solos, always in key.
Bring your own sounds.
UNA plays any synth, keyboard or DAW that speaks MIDI. Start with the keyboard you already own, and grow from there.
Hold a chord and UNA plays along. Tutorial Mode and HELP are one press away, and when you want the detail, the Quick Start, Field Guide, User Manual and CONNECT's guide have it all.

Before you buy
Does UNA make sound?
No. UNA plays the synths you already own, over MIDI. Plug a keyboard in one side and a synth in the other and you have a band. Every factory patch plays on Channel 1, so one polysynth is all you need to start.
What about drums?
UNA writes chords, melody and bass. It doesn't write drum patterns, but it sends MIDI clock, so your drum machine stays locked to the harmony and starts and stops with it.
Will it work with my Mac or iPad?
UNA needs no computer at all. If you want one in the rig, it appears as a standard USB MIDI device on Mac, Windows and Linux, so a DAW can record everything UNA plays.
CONNECT, the free companion app, runs in Chrome or Edge on Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. It doesn't run in Safari or on iPad.
When can I expect my UNA, and when will I be charged?
Early Bird orders will be dispatched between December 2026 and January 2027, tracked, with all duties and taxes prepaid. You're charged at checkout, and you can cancel for a full refund any time before your unit is shipped.
What if I need help?
Email us and you'll hear back from the person who designed it. Most problems are solved in a reply or two. If a unit does need to come back, it's covered by a one-year warranty: we repair or replace it and pay the shipping back to you.
And if UNA simply isn't for you, send it back within 30 days for your money back.
